Happy tail Harley

  • Harley spent more than a year at the Sanctuary at Haafsville
  • He was anxious at the start
  • With love and attention, he became more confident by the day

UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — After over 1 year in our shelter guess who was adopted?? Our very own Harley boy!

If anyone followed his journey you would know just how happy this news makes us.

Harley came to us terrified and appeared aggressive. Instead of rushing to judge him we gave him several months to decompress and adjust to shelter life.

At first only two people could walk him and the majority of the volunteers could not even approach him without him losing his mind.

It took A LOT of patience and a whole team of people who, one by one, were added to the Harley team.

Our boy became more confident day by day and learned how to love and trust again.

After six or seven months he became a shelter favorite with volunteers, but didn’t show well on adoption day.

We always say every pot has its lid, and although it took Harley a little longer, he finally found his.

Bo was a most patient and kind adopter. He came week after week to walk Harley and transition him into weekend sleepovers that soon turned into forever sleepovers.

We couldn’t be happier to be throwing him a little goodbye party and, to be honest, a few tears were shed.

But we are all so happy to see him finding his person and can’t wait to see what adventures they share together.

Thank you Bo… we love you Harley!!

Happy tails!
