MACUNGIE, Pa. — A country music duo who in May was chosen as the Academy of Country Music's New Duo or Group of the Year will perform at Bear Creek Mountain Ski Resort, it was recently announced.
Tigirlily Gold, just the second female duo to ever win the award, will perform on Friday, Jan. 31, as part of Philadelphia country radio station WXTU-FM 92.5's Ski Day at Bear Creek.
Also performing will be 2020 "American Idol" contestant Megan Knight.

The station also will broadcast live from the ski area from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to a release.
“We’re excited to spend the day on the slopes with XTU Nation at one of the region’s premiere ski resorts," WXTU Program Director Razz said in a release.
"And enjoy two of the next generation of rising stars in country music, Tigirlily Gold and Megan Knight.”
Two rising artists
Tigirlily Gold, a duo of North Dakota sisters of sisters Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, released their self-titled debut EP in 2023.
Their debut album, "Blonde," released in July, included the duo's debut radio single, "Shoot Tequila," which cracked the Top 50 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
A second single, "I Tried a Ring On," released in January, broke the Top 40.
Tigirlily Gold's win of the ACM Awards New Duo or Group of the Year made it only the second female duo to win the award, following The Kinleys in 1998.
Knight auditioned in Washington, D.C., on Season 18 of "American Idol," singing "When Your Mind's Made Up" by Glen Hansard, earning the approval of all three judges.
But then she did not again appear on the show and was not shown as part of Hollywood Week, where she presumably was eliminated.
Her website says she expects to release her debut album in 2025.
Last year, WXTU-FM’s Ski Day featured Ashley Cook, who captured the 2024 CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for her song "Your Place.”
