BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A rock music duo that has released 11 gold and platinum hits and four gold and platinum albums will headline Musikfest's closing night, it was announced Monday.
The Black Keys, best known for its double-platinum hits "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling," will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 on the downtown Bethlehem festival's main Steel Stage.
Opening the show will be stripped-down rockers The Velveteers.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 at the Musikfest website or at the box office in ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.ArtsQuest news release
Tickets, at $50 to $169 and $279 for Steel Terrace, which includes dinner, drinks and dessert at private tables under a tent, will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 at the Musikfest website and at the box office at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
The group in the past 15 years has sold 6 million albums and been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards — with five wins. Its song "Beautiful People (Stay High)" was nominated for Best Rock Performance this year.
The show will be part of the second U.S. leg of the band's tour to promote its upcoming album, “No Rain, No Flowers,” the first song from which, "The Night Before," was the No. 1 most- added song to the Alternative and AAA radio formats and now it Top 10 on both charts.
Chart-topping albums, hits
The Black Keys — guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney — formed in 2001 and first hit Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart with its 2004 third album, "Rubber Factory."
The band found broad success until its fifth album, 2008's "Attack & Release," which sold gold, peaked at No. 14 and contained the gold hit "I Got Mine."
The duo's next album, 2010's "Brothers," hit No. 3, sold double platinum, and gave the duo a platinum, No. 1 Rock chart hit, "Tighten Up"; a platinum No. 5 hit "Howlin' for You" and a gold hit, "Next Girl."

The duo has released three Top 10 albums since — 2019's "Let's Rock," 2021's "Delta Cream" and 2022's "Dropout Boogie."
Its most recent gold hit was 2019's "Lo/Hi," which peaked at No. 5 on the Rock chart.
10th of 11 Musikfest headliners
The show is the 10th of 11 headliners to be announced for Musikfest's 2025 lineup.
For its 42nd year, Musikfest will run Aug. 1–10, with a preview night on July 31.
Previously announced were Megan Moroney on preview night, July 31, platinum-selling country singer Riley Green on Aug. 1, and Americana rockers The Avett Brothers on Aug. 2.
Also, top country singer Darius Rucker on Aug. 3, rockers The Black Crows of Aug. 4, best-selling horn-rock favorites Chicago on Aug. 5, and rapper Nelly on Aug. 6.
Also, 1990s hitmakers Third Eye Blind on Aug 8 and multi-platinum country singer Jordan Davis on Aug. 9.
