ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The son of one of music's most enduring and beloved artists — and a high-charting country/folk artist in his own right — will perform at the new Archer Music Hall.
Lukas Nelson, son of country music icon Willie Nelson and leader of the popular country-rock band Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 18.
Opening the night will be up-and-coming Texas country singer Payton Howie.

Nelson in March announced his debut solo album, "American Romance," would be released June 20.
Its first single, “Ain’t Done,” was released March 24.
Lukas Nelson has led Promise of the Real since 2010, and with the band has released eight albums.
The most successful, its 2017 self-titled disc, hit No. 2 on the Country chart. Its following disc, 2019's "Turn Off the News (Build a Garden)," peaked at No. 19 on the Country chart and No. 14 on the Folk chart.
The group's most recent disc was 2023's "Sticks and Stones."
Lukas Nelson's career success
The band last June announced an indefinite hiatus.
Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real also have toured as Neil Young's band, and with him recorded three albums: 2015's "The Monsanto Years," 2017's "The Visitor" and 2018's "Paradox" soundtrack.
Lukas Nelson and his band also have frequently played the annual all-star Farm Aid concert, which raises money for American farmers, and toured with his father.
He also performed on his father's 2012 album "Heroes," which also featured his brother Micah, and on the 2017 album " Willie Nelson and the Boys," also with Micah.
When touring with his father, Lukas Nelson often duets with his father onstage on the Pearl Jam song "Just Breathe," which talks of life and legacy.
Lukas Nelson has won a Grammy Award for his work with Lady Gaga for producing the soundtrack of the movie "A Star Is Born."
