NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. — Voter registration scammers strike again.
The Northampton County Elections Office in a release Friday said it has gotten several reports of county voters receiving text messages from "AllVote.com" stating there's an issue with their voter registration status.

It's the second text-based scam in the Lehigh Valley of which county officials are aware.
Lehigh County Board of Elections this week issued a similar warning to voters about scammers impersonating county election officials through text message campaigns known as "smishing attacks."
Smishing is a technique in which bad actors try to extract someone's personal data by texting them a malicious link.

For accurate and official election information, voters are reminded to rely only on the county's election office and the Department of State for any and all information and communications.
