UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TWP., Pa. — State police say a man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday in the township.
He was identified as 66-year-old John S. Tompkins of Upper Mount Bethel.
He died of multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was accidental, according to Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek.
According to a release, troopers were dispatched at 4:36 p.m. Thursday to the 700 block of Totts Gap Road for reports of a crash.
Upon investigation, it was determined Tompkins was the operator of a 2003 Honda motorcycle, the release said.
The bike struck a guard rail and the victim died at the scene, according to the release.
The crash is being investigated by state police in Belfast, along with Troop M Bethlehem's forensic services unit and the Northampton County Coroner's Office.
