“People are struggling — to afford a place to live, to make ends meet — and they need a council that will listen to and work for them," Boulette said in a prepared statement.
"I have decades of experience listening to people with different opinions on how to solve problems, and then finding consensus to get things done."
A vice president of business analysis with the financial services corporation BNY, Boulette is wrapping up his first year on Wind Gap Borough Council.
If elected, Boulette said, he would prioritize preserving open space, limiting the growth of warehouses and keeping taxes low. He also committed to addressing rising housing costs.
Boulette is the second Democrat to launch a campaign after former Northampton County controller candidate Nadeem Qayyum.
No Republicans have formally entered the race at this point.
None of the five incumbents, Democrats Jeffrey Corpora, Ron Heckman and Lori Vargo Hefner and Republicans John Brown and John Goffredo, have announced whether they will seek re-election.
