The township Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at which they are scheduled to “discuss and possibly appoint” a new board member, according to the meeting’s agenda.

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — South Whitehall may get a new township commissioner Wednesday night.

The township Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at which they are scheduled to “discuss and possibly appoint” a new board member, according to the meeting’s agenda.

The special meeting will take place in the municipal building at 6 p.m., an hour earlier than most Board of Commissioners meetings.

  • South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners may appoint a new board member at its special meeting on Wednesday
  • Commissioners interviewed two applicants, Richard Wehr and Jacob Roth, last Monday
  • The new commissioner would fill the vacancy left by former commissioner Michael Wolk

The commissioners interviewed the two applicants, Richard Wehr and Jacob Roth, last Monday. Roth currently serves on the township’s Parks and Recreation Board.

The new commissioner will fill the vacancy left by former commissioner Michael Wolk’s resignation. He resigned because his family decided to move to Delaware.

There was some controversy the last time the Board of Commissioners chose someone to fill a vacancy. Last year, the board chose to appoint Ben Long after former commissioner Matthew Mobilio resigned.

But residents expressed concern about the vote because Long donated to the campaign of the board’s president at the time, Christina “Tori” Morgan.
