ArtsQuest youth summer art camps will take place on the Moravian University campus this summer, while the Banana Factory is demolished to make way for a new art and cultural center due in 2026.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Kids enrolling in ArtsQuest's summer art camps this year will find themselves on a college campus instead of a 60-year-old former factory-turned-art center.

Through a partnership with Moravian University, ArtsQuest announced Tuesday that it has arranged to temporarily relocate its Summer Art Camps to the south campus of the college, at 346 Main Street in downtown Bethlehem.

The temporary relocation is due to the demolition of the Banana Factory, where classes have taken place for more than two decades. A 75,000-square-foot, five-story cultural arts center is expected to open in 2026.

Youth summer art camps traditionally held at the Banana Factory will be relocated temporarily to the south Main Street campus of Moravian University. ArtsQuest announced its summer camp schedule today.

ArtsQuest summer camps run from June 11-August 15 and offer eight weeks of fun and engaging art-making classes and activities for children ages 4-18. Camps for ages 4-9 are on sale now, and Studio Intensives for ages 10-18 will go on sale early March.

Full-day and half-day programs are available, as well as early drop-off and extended hours.

Artists ages 4-9 will explore new themes each week, learn and practice fundamental artistic skills and discover a variety of materials and processes. Some of this year’s themes include landscapes and places, people and portraits, and animals.

At the end of each week, students will showcase their work to family and friends at the Art Party.

Campers ages 10-18 will explore mediums in greater depth through Studio Intensives. With multiple intensive options to choose from each week, teens and pre-teens can explore the topics that interest them most, like painting, cartooning and fiber arts to name a few.

ArtsQuest encourages those interested to participate in summer camp regardless of financial circumstances. Scholarship assistance is available based on financial need. Scholarship applications are due no later than May 30, 2025, to use towards Summer Art Camp.
