UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — The life of Riley is not always happy.
Every Saturday, I wait patiently at the door, hoping someone will come visit me.
Sadly, no one really comes by.
I see all the other pups get to meet new people, but I’m often overlooked. Am I too big? Am I not cute enough? Do I look intimidating?
I keep putting on my best puppy eyes to try to show I’m no threat. I really just want to cuddle all day with people.
Before I landed at the Sanctuary, I was running on a busy road looking for safety. I was scared because it was so loud, and there were many people calling out to me that I didn’t know. I was so stressed, and by the time I was caught, some of my faith in people was broken.
Why was I dumped? Did I do something wrong?
Luckily, I was brought to the Sanctuary where they built my trust and made me realize people still care about me. Just because I was dumped, doesn’t mean I’m a bad dog! I met so many friends here, and I’m so grateful for all the extra attention I’m given.
After all, I’m one of the volunteer’s favorites!
I’m told I’m the best cuddle buddy by many volunteers. If there were an award, I know I’d win. There are a few volunteers that actually took real naps with me. Best naps ever!! I promise I won’t snore too loud… I really just want to snuggle under the blankets and be with people.
I’m a pretty pittie, as you can tell. I’m about 5 years old, so you’re not dealing with the annoying puppy phase with me. I’m ready to become your best friend if you give me the chance to show you how sweet I am.
Come meet me 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Make sure you ask one of the adoption team members that you’re here to see Riley.
Our Beautiful Flower
Zinnia is ready to find her forever family after being abandoned at a local park.
She loves pets and attention!
Zinnia is one of our best walkers, and she loves to be outside.
She has quickly become a volunteer favorite!
She loves other things — a little too much at times — like toys and bones.
We are looking for a patient family to work on her “love of things," otherwise known as resource guarding.
We believe it can be worked on, as it seemed to develop in the shelter’s stressful environment.
Zinnia is a pit mix around 3 years old.
No cats for this girl and due to her being over focused on her toys, and older children are preferred.
If there is a dog in the home, a meet and greet will need to be arranged.
Interested in this sweetheart? Visit her between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
